Who am I on the Web?

Katie Royle

My Identity

I am a student, as my domain was mainly created for each of my classes, and to establish an online identity of myself. I have never been one to make a presence on the web, but after learning the importance of making my own domain from A Domain of One’s Own: All Aboard, I am now creating a digital name for myself as a student at the University of Mary Washington.

My Presence

When I think about who I am on the web, I associate myself with what I use the web for, such as social media, reading the news, or asking advice. I present myself as nice, as I comment kind things only, and fun, as I post fun videos or pictures of my people and me. I have an optimistic presence on the web that I am not ashamed of, and I want to continue this presence as I add educational posts to it.

My Values

When online, I value kindness and joy. As the web is very public and accessible to all, I find it important to be nice to people and value each opinion, whether you agree or not. I also find the web a place to share fun facts, fun recipes, fun videos, and share your joy in life. I value the joy others want to share on the web, as I try to do the same. I found these recipes as a representation of what I value on the web.

My Domain

I chose the name katieroylee as my domain name because it is simple, but represents me as a person. It is simply my first and last name, however, what I post on the web is fully me and what I value, so I decided to choose my name as my domain because it is fully myself.

This picture represents the joy I like the present on the web.
